Beauty Box: TheLookStore.com May 2012 Look Bag Review

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of updates. It's been kinda hard to juggle my time lately. So how is everybody? I've been trying to enjoy my week as I start a new full time job tomorrow. I'll be working as an intern at a digital marketing agency, and I'm really excited. I feel like such a noob walking into this job. I didn't learn too much SEO in my social media class. Anyways...did everyone enter my giveaway? If you haven't check out my giveaway page (link is on the right) and enter!

For today I have a review of TheLookStore.com's Look Bag. It is another beauty subscription that is $10/month, and they send you 5 different samples a month. This was my first Look Bag, and I have to say that I was extremely pleased. Mainly because there were two mini bottles of polishes inside! Here's what was in my first bag.

TheLookStore.com May 2012 Look Bag

Included:
1. Erno Laszlo The Hollywood Collection Skincare Samples
2. Kelly Teegarden Organics Regenerate Goji Pomegranate Face & Body Polish
3. Naked Princess Shineluscious Lip Gloss Sampler
4. The New Black Spring 2012 Runway Color Barometer in Electrical Banana & Midnight Blue
5. L'Oreal Paris Wear Infinite Pressed Eyeshadow in Sweet Chemise

I really liked that everything in this Bag was something I could and wanted to use. I feel like the problem with some subscription services is that you don't end up trying any of the samples because they aren't that interesting. I feel that way with some of the samples that come in my Birchbox. And some services make you fill out a beauty profile but don't really send you samples based on your preferences. However, TheLookStore.com did it right. I just hope that all my Bags are filled with great goodies like this one did. By the way, they only send samples that are "green" and eco-friendly which is awesome for $10/month.

Here are swatches of the nail polish I got.

The New Black Electrical Banana (No Flash)

The New Black Midnight Blue (With Flash)

The New Black is supposed to be an eco-friendly (made without Parabens, Sulfates, and Synthetic Fragrances), long wearing, ultra-glossy, fast-drying, and chip resistant polish. I didn't test out how long these stayed on your nails, but I can say the formula was really smooth, and the polish did dry up fast. The Electrical Banana is about 3 coats, and the Midnight Blue is 2 coats. LOVE!

Overall, I say if you've been debating on joining a beauty subscription service, join TheLookStore.com's Look Bag. They really did a magnificent job of putting this Look Bag together, and if the Bags keep coming like this, I'll never cancel. I was skeptical of what I'd receive in my order at first, but this has been a totally pleasing experience. Now, only if they updated their packaging. You guys know I'm a sucker for good packaging..which is probably why I still subscribe to Birchbox.

That's all for now. Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already. It ends on June 2. Oh and by the way, just wanted to share...I'm going to Vegas for Electric Daisy Carnival in June!!! Happy Birthday to me. haha.

Thanks for looking <3

    • yeah, im very impressed! im always so hesitant to try a new subscription because i hate getting samples that i would never use.

    • i've noticed this brand called layla popping up in ulta. i think they are an italian brand, i could be wrong about that, but it is imported, it's not made here in the US so it is really pricy. They retail for about $16. this site also carries different brands of holo polish, ( http://shop.llarowe.com/main.sc ) , and nubar carries a line of holo polish which you can find at bynubar.com
i hope this helps. oh and milani has their line of holo polishes which you can find in most drugstores (cvs, walgreens), it'll be in their display case.

  1. I just subscribed. Wish I could get this very bag, for the lip gloss samples alone! But I'm a little nervous as I've seen some other Look Bags from different months which weren't as great as this one. For $10, I figured I'd give them a try, but if I get bags more like the other ones than this one, I will cancel after a month or two. Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best, but trying to brace for the worst as well. Thanks for the review and pics!

    • I have their June bag which I haven't reviewed yet. And I was pretty happy with that too! I'll be doing a post soon. I feel like I always say that, but I promise!
