Swatch: Revlon Expressionists Collection

Revlon has this awesome collection for Fall/Winter 2011. It consists mainly of glitters, and I think there was a solid color of something. I can't remember. I picked up two glitters, Starry Pink and Facets of Fuchsia. Starry Pink is a pale pink jelly with silver glitter, and Facets of Fuchsia is a black jelly base with fuchsia/purple glitter. It looks like a dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance. I don't have Bad Romance so no comparison, but there are a lot of swatches on different blogs and such.

Here are the swatches..once again, sucky pictures that don't do these shades justice. I really need to find a better way to take pictures. I don't have a small digi cam which I think would be better to use, but whatever for now... --;;

Starry Pink. Kinda reminds me of sprinkles. I thought the glitter would be more pronounced, but even in person, it kinda fades into the background. Perhaps, if the pink was slightly darker or something. Either way, I don't have anything like this, and it might turn out better if I use a base color like white or another pale pink. This is 3 coats.

Facets of Fuchsia. This is what really caught my eye in their display because it looked so much like Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance which is a top lemming lol. This will have to do for now. Plus, you can't beat the price of Revlon compared to Lippmann. I believe these were about $5-6 a bottle. Lippmann is about $20. Three coats. Smooth coverage. Not really bumpy considering it's a glitter polish.

I, personally, like Revlon nail polishes a lot. Their formula is nice and smooth. You can have a bottle for years, and the polish won't turn sticky. Revlon started off as a nail polish company, and I think that's why their formula is superb. The only gripe I have with Revlon, usually, is their lack of interesting colors, but their Expressionists Collection...big kudos!!~ haha.

Thanks for looking <3
