NOTD: Pink Zig Zags

My friend came up for her birthday weekend, and we decided to do Zig Zag nails. She saw this somewhere on tumblr and asked me to replicate. However, replicate, I could not. I thought about doing tape nails, but I didn't think it would be easy. So, I freehanded them. The picture on tumblr had more lines and actual space in between some of the lines. Lol. Anyway, I tried my best, and here's what I got.

Not too bad, but not perfect either --;;

I used Zoya Anchor for a basecoat, Catrice Let's Mauve On as the base color, Hard Candy Fabuluxe (dark pink glitter lines), and Revlon Twinkled Pink for the other pink stripe. Poshe Topcoat seals it all off.

This surprisingly took me a long time to do. I didn't realize free handing zig zags could be so hard. I definitely wish I had a thinner brush to do this with. I'm still on the lookout for the perfect nail art brush. If anyone has any suggestions, drop a line!

That's it for now. Thanks for looking <3

  1. OMG I totally understand about the free hand perfection. It does take a long time. I am trying to practice on my making cleaner lines. Your did a awesome job especially without using a nail art pen. Your lines look clean enough. It is not always about perfection but the artwork and originality. Your design is so captivating that you can hardly notice the imperfection. Now I am a perfectionist I totally trip-out if my design is not perfect (which hardly is). It is even harder when you are using the hand you don't write with. So I am trying to practice on my hand being steadier.
    When I am making lines with a thin brush, I also found it easier to dip my brush in remover to thin out the polish on the end of the brush so it wont be too thick and clumpy. Keep up the good work it truly shows.

    • thank you :) yeah my steady hand comes and goes. if i dont polish for a while then my hand def gets shakier. if you ever do any designs, leave me a link or send me an email! id love to see how it goes!
